It's been five years since Team Flare was disbanded after the actions of a brave hero were able to quell the wrath of the Legendary Pokemon of Kalos- Xerneas and Yveltal.
Since then, peace has returned to the Kalos Region. A new cycle of Gym Leaders has begun training for their new positions, Geosenge Town and other ruined areas have been fully rebuilt. Power was regained at Lumiose Tower, and contact with other regions has increased twofold- not only is there now a booming Contest scene after trade with the Hoenn Region began, but undersea sub-train lines have been built that connect parts of the Kalos region to Unova. Culture and prosperity have reached a high, and many families have moved to the Kalos region in hopes of a better and more exciting life. Pokemon Trainers have flocked from around the globe in order to test their battling prowess against the skill of the new-and-improved Kalos League.
Yet, danger may once again be stirring. An unknown force has taken up residence in the northern Sea Spirit's Den, thought to be the return of a Legendary Pokemon not seen in hundreds of years and only spoken of in legend. Not only that, but an underground syndicate appears to have their eyes on the return of this mighty creature. A group of Pokemon poachers, they are known to have discovered a stone known as Ebonite that can react with Pokemon's hearts in much the same way as a Mega Stone, but can have adverse effects on Pokemon under its control. With the ability to capture away Pokemon from Trainers without having to use Poke Balls, crime rates have begun climbing once again. Though Gym Leaders and defense forces alike have tried to take down this organization or at least gain their identities, none are known. Along with the disappearance of a young girl from Lumiose City, some think that the missing child, the Shadow Pokemon, and the return of the legendary Pokemon are all interconnected.
Throughout all of this, it's getting to the time of year where new Trainers are issued Pokemon Licenses in order to travel alongside partners throughout the region. A few families have moved to Vaniville... could a journey through Kalos spell a new beginning out of the dawn or the dark end of a bright era?
