[googlefont=Bad Script] { } Second meeting with this person and she was going on a quest with him. It was moving pretty fast on how she had been connected with the division of Dusk operatives and then been placed with a true member from the beginning. She wondered if anyone suspected her. She had chosen a new alias. Roxanne Giles, something that was dear to her heart. She knew she would turn to the sound of her deceased sister's name being uttered. Rusty red clay laid under her feet as her and Leo made their way to Camphrier Town, where this alleged ghost problem was. Leo would do well as he could attack but not be attacked most of the time. Leo's new colors were interesting to Estelle. She could see the red clay sticking to his paws and the darker grey and black fur. She would have to clean and dye his paws again to make sure that nothing broke their cover. He was such a dark color, it made Estelle sad. His orange fur represented the vibrancy of his life after she rescued him from the streets. But now he was just as dark as he had been that day, when she found him. She didn't hate black by any means. She wore it constantly and loved the mysteriousness the color exemplified. But it certainly did not suit Leo at all. It was for the mission though. She would have to deal and hope this meeting went well. MADE BY VEL OF GS

[nospaces] [attr="class","darksrc"] [attr="class","flavi"] [break][break] [attr="class","flavourtext"]Just once more unto the breach, “Dear friend, once more.” [break] [break][break][break] [attr="class","flowtent"] Why did he have to do this again? There were plenty others who could keep an eye on the newbie, so why did it have to be him? Anyone else would be much better suited to the job! But an order is an order, and Richter can't disobey. Thankfully, the girl called Roxanne didn't seem too bad during their first meeting, and his pokemon -Masquerade in particular- seemed to not mind hers, so maybe they might just survive the night.[break][break]
"Well, we're at Camphrier." The outlaw muttered, as he nimbly leaped down from the ledge he was balancing on. "Now, where are...?"[break][break]
Before he could finish his sentence, his feline companion dashed off, prompting the group of three to chase after her and straight to a familiar female. At least he knew where Roxanne was now. "Ah... There you are... Ready for the mission?" He asked, pulling his cloak tighter around his body. Granted, that wasn't the best...'greeting', but Richter was never really one to be social. Besides, this was a mission so pleasantries weren't really that important anyway, unlike their first meeting where he actually had to try and be normal. That was just horrible, though surprisingly that mission didn't end in complete failure. Hopefully the same could be said for their current quest.[break][break]
Now what did they have to do again?[break][break]
Let's see - Camphrier Hotel had received multiple complaints from their customers about noises in the basement, liquid dripping from the walls, children's laughter from boarded-up rooms and everything creepy in general. Since such rumours could be damaging to the hotel's reputation, they investigated into the cause, and soon found out the stray ghost pokemon were the root of the problem. Now, the hotel staff weren't really much of trainers, so chasing out the pokemon themselves was a big 'no' - they needed someone to help them. So they put up an ad for aid, and for some reason, the Dusk Syndicate answered, sending Richter and the new girl Roxanne to clean up the mess. [break][break]
And that's pretty much all that Richter really bothered to remember, other than the six pokemon they were to defeat - Drifloon, Gastly, Shuppet, Litwick, Banette and Haunter. After all, he honestly didn't really care much for this mission, and just wanted to get this over and done with. [googlefont=Bad Script] { } A familiar kitten ran towards Estelle and she smiled for a brief moment, opening her arms in a welcoming way. This was something she missed. Breeding and caring for pokemon was something she truly cared for. Homemade poke food and countless litters of kittens and puppies from Roxy and Leo. It was funny how much this little kitten made her think of this. It reminded Estelle of the times when Roxy was this small. Her encounter with Farren at the Breeding Academy. Oh and Farren, how much she missed that woman. She didn't believe she could ever find a better friend and mentor. Helping her grow her confidence and become a stronger voiced person with her pokemon. Somehow a sigh came from her purpleish dyed lips as she stroked the small cat's back before scratching behind her ear. Then she missed Ollie.... She wouldn't break down now. She would hold steadfast and hold her emotions in. Leo rubbed against her to concrete her position in calmness as Richter approached. She didn't really smile, just nodded as Richter had proven to be a quite unusual person to be in Dusk. He seemed kinder than all the other operatives. "Yeah, I'm ready. Always."Her voice was unwavering as she placed Masq down on the ground before turning around to look at the entrance of the hotel and then opening the door. She was forward with her actions. Not wanting to waste any time. She stepped in with Leo behind her, sending a remark back as she entered the building. "No need to waste time out here."MADE BY VEL OF GS

[nospaces] [attr="class","darksrc"] [attr="class","flavi"] [break][break] [attr="class","flavourtext"]Just once more unto the breach, “Dear friend, once more.” [break] [break][break][break] [attr="class","flowtent"] The purrloin took the first chance she got to stick as closely as she could to the female outlaw, dashing into the hotel after her when she and Leo stepped inside. On any other occasion, this stunt would cause the other three to basically freak out, but since she was in the hotel with Roxanne… the three felt strangely alright with her running off. They felt that she would be safe, and so worry was something they didn’t need for her.[break][break]
"Yeah, yeah. Coming." Richter said, rolling his eyes as he stepped in after Roxanne. This act earned him a whack on the leg from an Angel who was annoyed at his lack of manners, but Richter simply shrugged off his friend’s warning to be nice. He was never really good with being polite anyway, and there was no way Roxanne would see - her back was to him. So it was fine.[break][break]
"Do we have to notify anyone in the hotel about us taking on their 'cry for help', or can we just start the job already?"[break][break]
Granted, it was a strange question, as one would think to first notify a member of hotel staff. But as his own superior had simply told him 'go to Camphrier and get rid of these ghost pokemon haunting the hotel there', Richter wasn’t sure if the staff had already been informed of their arrival. If they had, he’d rather not waste time chatting with one to tell them that Roxanne and him were taking up the job. If possible, he’d rather just start immediately.[break][break]
But, then again, this was Dusk he was talking about - it was highly likely that the staff weren’t told that the pair would be answering their call for help. So they’d have to tell them themselves. That was the one part that Richter wasn’t looking too forward to, as his…occupation had thought him that the fewer time spent chatting, the better.[break][break]
In fact, his and Roxanne’s previous meeting was the first in a long time that he held a somewhat friendly conversation with another human being! Usually, his conversations with other humans ended up one-sided, or ended up pretty stale and cold - Richter was never really good with social interaction, and his choice of job to sustain himself once he left home didn’t help that in the slightest. Honestly, he thinks it made his social skills worse, if that was even possible.

[googlefont=Bad Script] { } "If they want the help, they had better be here. We won't do this job without payment."Estelle had experienced her share of scams. She saved a girl who had neglected to groom her pokemon by doing her trimming for her with nothing but a small thank you. It was a scam where Estelle had been promised to be paid yet she was just tossed to the side. Lavender eyes hovered over the room, taking in the greeting area of the hotel. Nice posh place. There was a sitting area with couches and a coffee table on the right side. Then a little eating area and the stairway to the left. Estelle looked forward and narrowed her eyes to look at the counter. It was almost funny how the man tried to hide as the two slightly intimidating Dusk operatives walked in. He could have been profiled to be shivering. What a wimp. Masq wasn't surprising and it was sweet how she acted. She would need to allow Roxy out of her pokeball to see the small kitten. Small pale fist slammed down on the table which echoed through the near to abandoned hotel. It was eerie and the man behind the counter jumped up and saw both the figures along with all the pokemon. "Are you the one that will pay us?"
The male seemed to swallow the lump of fear in his throat as he nodded. Surprisingly, he must have known that it was Dusk coming to take the quest. Not many normal people were brave enough to deal with ghost pokemon. She glanced back at Richter, nodding to him then looking at the stairway to the basement, waiting for him to lead. welcome! You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. WORDS 285 NOTES this'll be fun | The rickety stairway creaked under both of their steps as they continued downwards. While the soft orange lights and rose-colored wallpaper of the first floor had been a comforting scene, it appeared as if B1F was a work in progress.
Darkness shrouded the floor, but sharper eyes could make out broken strands of yellow caution tape strewn haphazardly along the stairs, and the basement floor was still uncarpeted and cracked in areas, odd gray stalagmites hanging down from the ceiling in places. Above that, though, a foul-smelling purple miasma coated the floor, blackish fluid pooling in iridescent, tarry puddles upon the unfinished floor. This place looked as if nobody had been down here in months, possibly years.
Yet, from the way the requests were phrased, one would assume that these problems had only begun to crop up. Camphrier Town always had that shoddy, run-down feeling to it that went along with any rustic village sidelined by its own history, but this took “dump” to a new and jarringly literal level.
“Ha… ha ha ha ha~.”
A voice echoed across the basement, not seeming to come from any particular direction. The laughter started out slow and baritone, but quickly hastened to the pitch of a little girl and then up higher to a stream of mad giggles before going quiet.
“Welcome… to our show!”
A nearby television lit up with pixelated sound, suddenly coming to life with a young girl on the screen dressed in white. “Catch us if you can! We’re hiding… and we’d love love LOVE to meet you!”
As soon as the girl on the TV exclaimed these words, the picture faded back to static, pulsating every now and again with a silhouette.

[nospaces] [attr="class","darksrc"] [attr="class","flavi"] [break][break] [attr="class","flavourtext"]Just once more unto the breach, “Dear friend, once more.” [break] [break][break][break] [attr="class","flowtent"]
To be honest, the sudden laughter and flicker of the TV had startled Richter, and out of reflex he pressed himself to the wall that backed the stairs. When he realised what he had done, he growled, as a light pink dusted his cheeks - he really hated when he acted so jumpy around another person. It was embarrassing, and he sincerely hoped that the basement was gloomy enough that Roxanne was not able to see his blush.[break][break]
But it wasn’t like he couldn’t help it. Ever since he took to the streets and began his thefts, he’d become very edgy around others. It was something that he picked up after being told to 'always be on your guard' and 'to trust no one but yourself and your pokemon' because you never knew who around you could be a cop. That advice, coupled with his fear of being caught, resulted in his distrust of others and his uneasiness in crowded places, though that unease soon faded if he was attempting a pickpocket or something of similar nature.[break][break]
It was an annoying trait, he’d admit, and if it wasn’t for its usefulness, Richter would have by now tried what he could to change that aspect of him. But the fact was that even if it brought about its own set of troubles, it aided him greatly enough to balance the scale, so there was no need to change that… at least not yet. Times like this, however, did make him wonder if that was the right choice.[break][break]
"So what? We’re just supposed to play 'hide-and-go-battle'?" Sarcasm and annoyance laced his voice as the thief crossed the gap between the stairs and the TV, ignoring the icky muck that coated the floor. He was used to the grime, so it didn’t bother him. He was however relieved that he had earlier withdrawn Angel to her pokeball - if she had been out, the minccino would be scuttling about in a rush just to try and clean everything! And that wouldn’t be a good idea considering how little he knew about the ghost pokemon they would be facing. For all he knew, one of them could easily knock-out his childhood partner, and he didn’t want that. So better safe than sorry, eh?[break][break]
"Think one of them is in the TV?" Asking no one in particular, Richter prodded the television’s side with his boot, as Spectre took a cautious stance, Masquerade on the other hand…Actually it seemed as if she’d be following Roxanne for this quest, considering how she hadn’t left the other outlaw’s side.

[googlefont=Bad Script] { } One would have expected Estelle, right now known as Roxanne, to be scared or at least unsettled by the current events in the hotel basement. Yet, her small feet just moved down the stairs graceful and calm; barely even phased by the pokemon's antics. It wasn't that she was without fear, oh no. She knew that people were evil and she was frightened for her life in many situations she got herself into. Frightened for her life and those lives around her. But this didn't scare her. They were pokemon, yes. Capable of destruction and human thought but just pokemon. She could easily deal with them with the help of Leo, who was obediently following behind Estelle as Masq did as well. Roxy would be cranky if awoken from her nap so she thought it best to leave the liepard in her pokeball. When the TV screen flickered on, the light just dimly lit up the features of Estelle's face, illuminating bored lavender eyes. The girl was a figure. A form or a doll controlled by one of the small ghost pokemon that she hadn't bothered to memorize. She knew they were ghosts though. When Richter spoke, Estelle narrowed her eyes at the black TV screen. A deft kick from the woman and the older TV flew off the desk and onto the floor, cracking the screen. "If there is, it will be here soon."
She seemed to have a more upfront way of dealing with things and she didn't know if that was exactly good or bad in the sense that she was partnered with Richter. She just hoped her wouldn't judge her actions as anything but her personality. MADE BY VEL OF GS

boo You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. WORDS 393 NOTES boo | The TV shook and rattled when Ritcher prodded it with a foot, static blinking on and off with a series of discordant jolts and sizzles. When Estelle kicked it over, it slammed to the floor with a loud crash as the picture shattered into black fragments, a narrow trail of white smoke rising up from its electronic core. From out of the corner of a sharp eye, one might notice a creeping trail of electricity sparks moving from the TV through the exposed wires and into the once-white wall outlet, now thick with dust.
A dusty oil painting on the wall began to shake, its frame coming undone.
“Awfully rude of you!” echoed a snooty woman’s voice, chiming eerily from the rococo-era portrait. “It’s not very nice for people like you to be wrecking this place. That TV was the only thing keeping us busy!” The woman in the portrait, rosy-cheeked and wearing a bright yellow dress, didn’t appear to move.
A second art installation began to shake, this time a black-and-white photograph of an older man in a suit, a carnation at his breast. “Dat’s right. Can’t ya yokels see what was hooked up?”
… The television was connected to an ancient video game system and joystick. The SILPH CO. logo could barely be made out.
“Ugh. Now Mistah Bossguy is gonna kill us! We make da mayhem, but we don’t touch da goods.”
“Right, right, right.” replied the lady’s voice. “Everyone knows you were the only one using that decrepit piece of trash. Mr. Bossguy used it to keep up on their soap operas, and I needed it to watch reruns of my favorite movies.”
“Movies? Ya mean the old thing dat da human folk left down here? Dat DVD set? Dat thing is gah-bage. Even da Bossguy is all ‘Aw, darlin’- don’t watch that scrap’. I ah-gree.”
The two voices appeared to be two Ghost-type Pokemon having a heated quarrel over… human entertainment? It seemed that this was less an issue of battle and more an issue of reasoning. They appeared to be far more focused on living in the hotel than spooking the natives, and their speech-based gifts were quite notable.
“Anyway- you two human-types. Scram! We know what da folks upstairs think and we don’t give a dang.”
“Quite.”
Not-so-civil. Would they agree to a fight if asked?

[nospaces] [attr="class","darksrc"] [attr="class","flavi"] [break][break] [attr="class","flavourtext"]Just once more unto the breach, “Dear friend, once more.” [break] [break][break][break] [attr="class","flowtent"] Well, kicking the TV over was certainly one way of doing things. A little loud, a little messy, but it gave the desired results. He didn’t think much about Roxanne’s choice of action though, chalking it down to 'efficiency’. [break][break]
Personally however, he’d have just mess around with the TV and see where that led to, even if it might have taken a little longer to get a reaction from the ghosts than Roxanne’s method. As much as he’d love to hurry this mission along, he still didn’t want to make too much of a mess with things. [break][break] …Ugh, Angel was getting to him. That was…bad, in a way.[break][break]
"As much as we’d love to, bickering lovebirds, we did make a deal with the upstairs guys. And since it seems like you won’t leave on your own free will.. how about this? We have a battle, and if we win, you scram. If we lose…then we’ll scram." Either way it would be a win for him - sure he’d get reprimanded by his superiors if he lost, but at least he’d be out of here and away form this old married couple. [break][break]
Seriously though, how on earth did those two ghosts act like that? He’d have thought they’d attempt to be slightly intimidating, being ghosts and all, but no! They decided it would be better to argue with each other over shows while two humans were in front of them. And Richter took insult to this, interpreting the ghosts’ behaviour as them viewing the two outlaws and their pokemon to be too insignificant to warrant their attention.[break][break]
He’d beat them and show them that they were wrong.

[googlefont=Bad Script] { } Silence was the only thing that Estelle really figured she would do. Richter had explained their standing in the situation and she had nothing to really add. Being called rude did rind her gears a bit and after the comment about the TV she kicked it once more to show her apathy that they thought she was rude. She was rude? They were the ones scaring innocent people and making them sleep out in the dark night. Possibly even worse of a crime than breaking a TV. They fought like a married couple and it ticked Estelle off. She was already on edge with her nerves and their bickering over Richter's offer didn't really help to calm her. "Oi! Shut your holes and listen!"
Her face contorted and then Richter posed his deal. Leo was beside her and was ready to fight whenever he was needed to do so. MADE BY VEL OF GS
