Coumarine City Gym and Gardens
Want to plot a challenge fight out, send me a PM, bug me in the CBox, or head over to my plotter!
The Gym can always use some trainers for challenges, and the garden always welcomes volunteers. The Gym is open from 8am-4pm, closed on Saturday. The gardens are open 9am-4pm, open every day.

Though a younger Leader has come to take over the Gym, the building itself only experienced some minor renovations. There's only so much you can do to a giant tree, right? The battle area itself has been renovated into a greenhouse, another private greenhouse has been added for Laurel's botany practice, and gardens have been added across the grounds outside.
"Welcome to the Coumarine City Gym! Are you here to challenge Laurel?"
A man in foresty colors greets you by the front doors. Depending on your answer, he will guide you through the double doors that open up into the Gym itself.

GUIDELINES FOR ENTERING THE FACILITIES
- First timers should always enter the building via the front entrance so that the League official meets you, and can properly direct you for what you are visiting for
- You are free to have one Pokemon outside of their ball as you traverse the Gym.
- Do not attempt to capture any wild Pokemon you see.
- Do not harm any of the wild Pokemon you see.
- Do not purposefully damage any part of the building, tree, or garden.
- Do not remove any rocks, plants, or other objects.
- If death or injury occurs, any battles are immediately stopped and the situation taken care of. Trainers and visitors will be compensated for any injury or death that occurs in the building.
THE GYM LEADER
The current Gym Leader is Laurel Allard, a botanist and Grass-type specialist. She is usually seen in the gardens around the building, or spending her time in the branches of the Gym. If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of her Ocarina spreading across the grounds. She does not own any of the wild Pokemon that call the building and garden home, but you can be sure they will kick you out or even ban you from the Gym and gardens if you attempt to harm or catch them.
Laurel gives out the Garden Badge to victors, and those that are deemed deserving of it. The badge is a metal and dark green, in the shape of a half-curled fern.
Along with the badge and some prize money, victors receive a TM containing Solar Beam.
The current team of the Coumarine Gym consists of a Carnivine, Lilligant, Meganium, Roserade, and Vileplume. Trainers who frequent the gardens may have seen the team helping tend to the flowers.

GETTING THROUGH THE GYM
Challengers must climb branches and rope ladders in order to get the battle field. Gym trainers may camouflage themselves, climb up branches, etc. in order to surprise challengers and ask them to battle.
The way the Gym works is the three battle option. Simply find three gym trainers, beat them in a battle, and then fight the Gym Leader.
Note that in all three options, the battles must occur in one sitting. Challengers are free to use recovery moves and items, but may not leave and return to continue the same challenge. In any sort of emergency case, call for a Gym trainer and they will escort you out.

BATTLEFIELD AND RULES
The battlefield used for battles is a large greenhouse high in the branches, looking out over the garden and City. It's humid because of the sprinklers that water the various plants surrounding the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Bleachers are brought in on the sidelines for spectators.
The Coumarine Gym allows single challenger 2v2s, or single battles. In a single challenger battle, the challenger may use any number of Pokemon, but only one at a time.
The challenger may switch their Pokemon at any point among the Pokemon that have opted to use for that challenge. The Leader can only send out a new Pokemon when their Pokemon is deemed unable to battle, and only from the Pokemon they have chosen to use for that challenge.

AFTER A BATTLE
Badges are always rewarded for causing the Gym Leader's Pokemon to be deemed unable to battle, either by the referee, or by Laurel calling an end to the fight.
HINTS AND TIPS
- The Gym isn't just for battles, have fun exploring the gardens as well!
- Most of the Gym team will freely interact with, and assist people outside in the gardens.
- Climbing branches and ladders is more of a test of will (and Laurel likes seeing people struggle with climbing when it's so easy for her), but there is a hidden staircase leading right to the battleground.
