biography While they have been happily pursuing legendary bird studies for a few years now, Cooper’s focus has been quite frivolous n the past. Starting at ten with their own starter Pokemon and Pokemon League dreams, they soon switched to studying berry growing. Next was trying to get in as staff in Striaton Gym (too young to serve alcohol), followed by getting lost in the crowds and sounds of Castelia. The smoky back alleys were home to many a musician and dedications to Meloetta, bringing Cooper’s interest in the myths and legends of Unova - their Johto heritage shifted that interest back towards the birds of legend. Several years at the Season Research Lab, and Cooper was offered a transfer over to Kalos - their tracking of the Weather Trio as well as their personal pursuit of the Bird Trio has garnered some attention! Kalos being a hub for Pokemon-human sports was a cherry on top of the legendary bird sundae. The gym circuit was also a fresh and still new place too. While they was firmly on the path of legendary studies, Kalos also offered nostalgic dreams and distractions - they did spend their early years collecting badges after all, and everyone dreams of becoming the champ! pokemon Kuro ♂ The first friend Cooper made in Kalos. The tiny bat was not only a fast friend, but a fast grower in size, but not so much in maturity, forgetting how big he really is at times - or is it just an act? Inflitrator: Be it a Substitute to the shimmer of Protect, Kuro's attacks slip through without a care. Fly: Not so much as move as a command to tackle into a target from the air. Mainly an acknowledgement that both Kuro and Coop know how to fly safely and deal with trouble. Cut: Sharpening his claws, Kuro claws at the target. Mainly used to make clean, safe cuts on foilage and other obstacles. Air Slash: Flapping with extreme force and energising the air, Kuro sends a cutting wind at the target. It can be so harsh that it causes the target to flinch. Flamethrower: Calling on his draconic typing, and trained by Hino, the noivern lets out a stream of fire that may leave the target with a burn. Used to energise Hino at times. Water Pulse: Trying to copy Hikari with his own sound affinity, Kuro roars out a pulse of water. The impact of water and sound can leave the target disorientated and in the confused status. Hidden Power (Electric): Seeing Kuro trying to copy Hikari's electricity, Coop bought a Hidden Power TM for the then-noibat, not wanting him to hurt himself with Wild Charge. Luckily, it did manifest in an electricity typing instead of overlapping with water! Used to energise Hikari at times. Hikari ♂ An agreeable fish who will judge you hard if you dirty up his water. Misses being a chinchou who rested on Coop's head, but dearly loves being able to pull them through water safely now. Being a waterbound pokemon, Hikari's pokeball helps create and power a water bubble around the lanturn, letting him 'swim' in the air, up to two meters off the ground. The water bubble doesn't cause any damage unless an actual move is used! Volt Absorb: Electricity heals instead of damages, energising and staving off the wear of battle. Surf: When on land, this causes Hikari's water bubble to greatly expand and crash into the target. When on or under water, it causes a wave or a rip to buffet the target. Used to help move Coop while on the surface of the water. Dive: Has no effect on land. When on or under water, energising the water immediately around Hikari as he rams into the target. Helps control the water around Coop while underwater. Waterfall: Causes Hikari's water bubble or the immediate water around him to rile up as he rams into the target, potentially making them flinch. Gives Hikari the burst of energy needed to travel safely up waterfalls with Coop. Whirlpool: When above water, allows Hikari to get close to a target and wrap them in his water bubble, trapping them for a short time. When on or under water, causes a small whirlpool to restrict the movement of a target. Used to read and safely navigate naturally occurring whirlpools with Coop. Flash: Overloading his orbs, Hikari lets out a blinding flash of light, disrupting everyone in the area. Helps the lanturn regulate the intensity of their light output, and easily control is past what he can naturally do. Thunderbolt: Hikari lets out a burst of electricity, shocking the target, with a chance of causing paralysis. Also useful for charging equipment when careful! Hino ♂ Faithful, friendly, fluffy, funloving. Great at tracking, and has only chewed on one or two of the specimens he has found or dug up. Flash Fire: Fire has no effect on the dog, instead being converted into energy and powering them up! Rock Smash: Focusing his energy, the arcanine pounces and claws at a target. Mainly used to break up and clear obstacles safely. Strength: Going beyond his natural physical ability, Hino throws his entire weight into tackling a target. Mainly used to help move objects and obstacles. Dig: Rapidly tunneling into the ground, Hino erupts underneath the target and tackles them. Mainly used for exploring caves and underground areas, or creating alternate routes. Protect: Creating a shimmering light blue barrier, Hino destroys a single move that makes contact with it. Using it in rapid succession greatly drains his energy, and decreases in effectiveness of destroying moves. Agility: Focusing on his movements and flaring up his inner fire, Hino's movements become faster, and reflexes sharper. Flamethrower: Calling up his inner fire, Hino let's out a controlled stream of fire.
