your leaves have drifted
“away”
The soft sounds of footsteps on grass was pleasant to the boy. The feeling of grass beneath his feet was refreshing. He felt free. Well, more free than he would have felt if he were wearing socks and shoes. Benji absolutely hated footwear of any kind, and would refuse to wear them whenever he had the chance. Though sometimes he would wear them if he had to, like if it was raining and he didn't want his feet to get muddy. Or if he absolutely had to walk on a gravelly road. But even in those conditions he only wore footwear half the time.
Benji was walking alongside a narrow dirt road, looking up at the sky as he observed Orion soaring around through the firmament. Back on the ranch it felt like Orion had any room to fly around. He was usually cooped up inside his pokeball. He didn't really like when his Pokémon were in their pokeballs all the time. He couldn't imagine why they would want to be in there when they could be out and about, exploring the land alongside him. While Orion was flying around above him, Goliath was perched on Benjamin's shoulder and Sage was walking next to him, gazing at the Noivern as well.
The young man looked away from his starter to stare at the Eevee, though he supposed she suspected he was looking at her judging by the way she shot him a cold glare. "C'mon Sage, y' don't gotta be so mean." Ben spoke in a lighthearted tone, a cute smile on his face. Though that wasn't going to work, of course. All she did was look away, her harsh expression unrelenting. How he was going to train the young Eevee, he didn't know. But he wasn't concerned about that. Nope, not at all.
