biography TRIGGER WARNING FOR EMOTIONAL ABUSE. For all intents and purposes, Lucy Di'Angelo did not have a normal childhood. She was born to two parents, her mother a scientist who was researching the color patterns of Kecleon, and a father, who was not. What her father was, however, was an emotionally abusive man. He belived that her mother should be making all of the money so he could sit around and be lazy, which was happening, but he also believed that she should be home, cooking and cleaning so he didn't have to. He liked to take out his frustration out on Lucy's mom because he believed everything to be her fault. Lucy was around six when she got her first memories of what he was like toward her mother, but she suspects it happened long before she was born. Her mother stayed with him because of Lucy, though. She didn't want Lucy to grow up without both parents. But they both perservered. He never lashed out at Lucy, preferring to keep all the bashing and terrible words for her mom. He practically ignored that she existed. Lucy's dad didn't have a job while she was young, but he did gamble quite a bit. He eventually got into a lot of trouble for it and was arrested, having hustled the wrong people out of a lot of money. Lucy's mother was horrified, and broken beyond repair. Her reputation was ruined, in her words, and she fell into a depression and eventually stopped caring for Lucy. The young girl was sent to live with her grandparents in the Kalos region, specifically Dendemille Town. In Dendemille, Lucy made friends almost immediately. She loved her friends in school, and knew almost every kid in the neighborhood. Eventually, though, they all decided to go and study in other towns, or go on their Pokemon journeys, and she was left alone. Fast forward a few years, and Lu was sent a package from her mother containing a Pokemon egg. The letter read: This was your fathers. I don't know if there's anything alive inside of it, but I found it in his old basement hideout, sitting under a heat lamp. He probably won it from some gambling thing, I don't know. I don't want anything to do with it, so it's yours now. Lucy was intrigued, but also unsure. She was excited at the prospect of having a Pokemon, but it was also from her father... She decided to keep the egg, and see if she could get it to hatch. She kept it with her wherever she went, strapped to her like a baby. She slept with it, sat with it in her lap while reading, whatever she could. One day, it hatched, and Lucy was extatic. Sitting before her was a Cubchoo. How her father got the egg of a Cubchoo was beyond her, they weren't native in Hoenn. She suspected her mom was right and got it gambling or probably some kind of underground auction. But she didn't care, this was her Pokemon and she was going to care for it. She named it, and told her grandparents that she was going to be leaving Dendemille Town, to start her Pokemon adventure. Sure, she was a bit old for that. New trainers are usually ten. But she didn't mind. She wanted to set out on her own journey. pokemon
