An orphaned girl whose parents left her in a small orphanage in the outskirts of Camphrier Town, her family history is completely unknown. Named "Madison", she was taken in by a foster home in Lumiose at the age of five and stayed with her new mother and father, Josie and Austin Beaufont. According to records, she lived a happy life there and was given a Pokemon at the age of ten to keep her company. It was an Azurill that she bonded with very well, to the point where it evolved not very long after it being in her company. Unfortunately, tragedy struck. During last winter's heavy snowstorm, Josie was out getting groceries for the family, and was caught in the flash blizzard on the way home. She suffered an asthma attack on the road, and her body was covered by the next morning. Devastated by the loss of a close family member, Maddie and her father stuck together tighter than glue and mourned together. Austin became determined to protect her, and often accompanied her to school and anywhere else she might go. Maddie's Marill was properly trained to defend her in case anything went wrong, and was taught the powerful Rollout attack for good measure. It's said in the case file that Maddie became tired of constant surveillance, even when she was simply at home doing homework from the previous night. She and Austin began to fight often, and she often threatened running away if she couldn't be "treated like a normal kid". The stress of the loss of Josie was likely weighing on her, as at the time of her disappearance she had been seeing a child psychiatrist. When she disappeared, it took no time at all to be reported. Everyone had suspected that Maddie had simply run away from home after experiencing Austin's new authoritarian parenting style. Yet, most children who run away are found within the day. Her location is unknown, despite Lumiose and the surrounding routes being surveyed every single day. Notable is the fact that her Marill also went missing- seeing as Marill was not kept in a Poke Ball, that means it actively chose to accompany her wherever she was going, which means that she initially must have left of her own will. Finally, rumors. It's said that at school. Maddie would brag that she "could see people's auras". Aura-seeing was a trait mainly known among Sinnoh's ancient peoples. but she said that she could tell whether a person or Pokemon had especially bad hearts and intentions. Whether this is true or links to the case file in any way is so far unknown. pokemon -  - ruri - bold nature- despite small size, often moves to defend Maddie. willing to take on foes far larger than itself, even if it's still considered just a baby. - (tail whip- whips its large tail against an opponent to knock it off balance, reducing its defensive ability. water gun- spurts a jet of water towards an opponent, good at dousing objects and putting out small fires. Rollout- rushes an opponent in a rolling motion, does more damage the more it is used sequentially.
