Plucky, outspoken, and a little bit on the intense side, Leona's kind of the opposite of the demure Southern Belle you might expect from her frilly appearance. Able to lift a grown Flaaffy with both hands, she's awfully strong and likes a taste of the night life now and again. Born into a happy and easy life, she wasn't content with being "born" into her wealth. She's extremely determined and dislikes being protected and coddled by others, and has the mentality of wanting to give her ease to others while seeing what it's like to find her own path in life. It's why she's so bent on becoming a rough-and-tumble Pokemon Trainer! You'll find that despite her strong inner fire, she's also the mom of any friend group, being the one to bring extra provisions and often looking after the smallest Pokemon in a party. She can be quite... prideful, though. She's a bragger about both her skill and her material possessions, making her a little annoying to deal with at times. The sorest loser ever. biography Leona comes from a wealthy family that owns a region-wide textile business in Striation City, Unova. Drinking fine tea in the morning, taking manners classes and throwing dinner parties in the evening, and battling by night, you could say she's kind of leading a double life. By age ten, she was sent off to a private academy in Castelia City in order to learn painting. Her parents hired a personal tutor to help her "become more ladylike", which included vague things such as balancing books while walking and practicing exact proper speech. Not being much of an art person or very good at holding her balance, she became frustrated at what her parents were trying to mold her personality into. At age thirteen, she started using her pet Minccino in the Nimbasa Battle Subway to take on trainers at nighttime, actually making a name for herself in the younger leagues that had one-pokemon-each rules. When her parents found out, they were disappointed. After all, she was going to be a celebrity! Battles weren't befitting of a girl whose only real duty was to act regal and preserve an image. Often fighting with her, Leona ended up dropping into a bad slump wherein she lost her high marks in school and generally stayed locked up in her silk-covered room all day. So, she got sent off to an even stricter school over in Virbank City... where, in a devious twist, she did surprisingly well and got nominated for an exchange program in Kalos for those who wanted to live with a foster family for a year. While her parents approved of sending her to the land of fine drinks and flowers, Leona snickered as she knew this was her big break. She happily signed terms to allow her to live with the "Villiers". She was going to take on the Kalos Pokemon league and get her fosters to sign a Trainer's Licence. Too bad she doesn't know about the criminals. Or the swamps. Or the ghosts. All of the ghosts. pokemon
